A fan film for anxious Hobbit movie fans

A group of The Lord of the Rings fans (many of whom just happen to work on professional films for their day job) came together to create a 40 minute film entitiled The Hunt For Gollum.

It takes place shortly before The Fellowship of the Ring and chronicles Aragorn’s hunt for Gollum, lest he fall into the wrong hands and betray the location of the ring.

It’s very much by fans, for fans. The special effects are really well done (watch the behind the scenes clips for the full appreciation) and the film itself is a welcome treat during the long wait for the upcoming Hobbit movies. Which, assuming they meet their schedule on the first film, isn’t due out until December 2011.
